Come learn about the many opportunities
for those with a background in statistics!
This career fair provides students of any major a unique
opportunity to learn about career options in statistics. You will have the opportunity to chat with
statisticians from local universities, government, health care, marketing, and
pharmaceutical companies from throughout Southern California. Following the lunchtime speaker, there will
be small breakout sessions in which professionals from different industries will
tell you how they spend their work days, the academic preparation and work
experience needed, and the current and future opportunities in their
fields. A tour of the City of Hope
will also be available at 1:30.

and Speaker: Mary Ellen Bock, President of ASA, of the American Statistical
Association will speak. Awards ceremony
for high school poster competition (for details visit: postercomp.sc-asa.org).
1:30 pm – 3:30 pm Breakout sessions: What it’s like to do statistical work in
different industries.

Cost for Event:
Nothing! You may purchase a
lunch (lasagna, salad, bread, dessert, and beverage) for $6.00, if your
reservation is postmarked by February 21st.
NOTE: SCASA is offering free 1 year ASA and SCASA
memberships to first-time student attendees.

Directions: Take the
210 freeway to Buena Vista, one exit west of the 605 freeway. Go south to Duarte Road and turn left. The main entrance and Platt Conference
Center are on the right. There is free
parking along the south side of Duarte Road or in the lot east of the main
gate.
